The basics
What does SPAH stand for?
Spa Pampering at Home. The SPAH Experience was created as an in-home spa experience offering luxury massage and bodywork treatments, and the mobile service is still the defining part of the practice. In-studio services were added later.
Who performs the massage?
LaSandra Butler, a licensed massage therapist who has been serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for more than 17 years. This is a single-practitioner practice — the same therapist performs every session, in-home and in-studio.
Where are you located?
The SPAH Experience Studio is at 7700 West Northwest Highway, Suite 720, Studio 271, Dallas, TX 75225, inside Mattison Avenue Salon & Spa. It is in the Lincoln Park Center off Northwest Highway, across from NorthPark Center. It is a private treatment studio and is by appointment only.
What are your hours?
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Tuesday and Sunday are closed.
Can I just walk in?
No. All services are by appointment only. The studio is a private treatment suite inside another business, not a retail spa with a reception desk.
In-home massage
Do you come to my house?
Yes — that is the original service. In-home massage covers the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas. The massage table, fresh linens, bolsters, aromatherapy oils and music are all brought to you and all leave again afterwards.
Which services can be performed in my home?
Express Massage (45 minutes, $100), Full Body Massage (60 minutes, $145) and Prenatal Massage (60 minutes, $145). The other three are studio-only.
How much space do I need?
Roughly the footprint of a dining table, with room to walk around three sides. A living room with the coffee table moved aside is almost always enough. Quiet matters far more than square footage.
Do I need to clean the house or provide anything?
No. One cleared room is the entire requirement, and everything the session needs is brought for you. The genuinely useful preparation is securing pets and making sure the household knows not to interrupt.
Is there a travel fee?
No travel fee, travel radius or mileage charge is published. The price is the same as the equivalent studio session. If anything additional ever applied to a particular booking it would be confirmed with you directly beforehand.
How far ahead should I book an in-home session?
We have limited availability and only accept a few new clients per month. Same-day appointments can be difficult to schedule. Booking a week or more ahead is the reliable route, and the waitlist is how most short-notice openings get filled.
Can you come to an apartment or a high-rise?
Yes, and it works well — space is rarely the limiting factor. If your building registers guests at a desk or requires the service elevator to be reserved, note it when you book so the arrival window is not spent in a lobby.
Services and prices
What does a massage cost?
Express Massage 45 minutes, $100. Full Body Massage 60 minutes, $145. Prenatal Massage 60 minutes, $145. Hot Stone Massage 75 minutes, $170. Luxury Full Body Polish 75 minutes, $175. Hydrating Body Wrap 75 minutes, $175.
Why are three services studio-only?
Hot Stone Massage needs a heater that holds a controlled water temperature. The Luxury Full Body Polish and the Hydrating Body Wrap need facilities a home does not have. All three are performed at the studio in Dallas.
Do you offer prenatal massage?
Yes, at the studio and in your home, 60 minutes for $145. Prenatal massage is performed in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters only. It is performed side-lying and supported with bolsters, and it is customized to meet your pregnancy needs.
What is the difference between deep tissue and Swedish?
Pace and intent more than pressure. Swedish is flowing, whole-body and moderate; deep tissue is slow and specific, working into deeper layers. Most good sessions blend both, and the blend is chosen with you during the session.
What is the difference between a body polish and a body wrap?
A polish exfoliates and then seals the result; a wrap delivers moisture into the skin. Polish takes away, wrap puts in. If your skin is both rough and dry, a polish first and a wrap a week or two later works best.
Do you offer memberships?
Yes — in 60-minute massage, 75-minute massage, 90-minute massage tiers. Current membership pricing is confirmed at booking rather than published here, so ask when you book or call 214-732-1192.
Do you sell gift cards?
Gift cards are not currently sold.
Booking and policies
How do I book an appointment?
All appointments are booked online through our booking site, which opens in a new tab. That is also where payment is handled and where intake forms and waivers are completed before your session. You can call 214-732-1192 with questions first.
Can I book through the contact form?
No — the contact form is for general questions only. Appointments are made on the booking site, which is where availability, intake forms and waivers live.
What is your cancellation policy?
We charge a 30% cancellation fee for any no-shows or cancellations made within 4 hours of the scheduled appointment.
Why do you need a card on file?
A card on file is required for first-time clients. In a single-practitioner practice an unfilled slot cannot be reassigned to another therapist, which is what the policy is protecting against.
What is the waitlist?
Same-day appointments can be difficult to schedule. Join the waitlist and you will be worked onto the schedule as openings appear.
Is there a birthday discount?
A $10 birthday discount is redeemed at the time of service.
During your appointment
What should I wear, and how does draping work?
Undress to your level of comfort — most people undress to their underwear, some keep more on. You are covered by a drape for the entire session and only the area being worked on is uncovered at any moment.
Do I have to talk during the massage?
No. Most people go quiet within about ten minutes and a good number fall asleep. Say what you need about pressure and comfort; beyond that, silence is entirely normal.
How do I say the pressure is wrong?
Directly and early. A number helps far more than an adjective — 'that's about a 7, I'd like a 5'. If you are holding your breath or bracing, say so immediately.
Can I ask for an area to be skipped?
Yes, at any point and without giving a reason.
Is tipping expected?
Tips are welcome and genuinely not expected. The SPAH Experience is owner-operated, which removes the structural reason tipping exists in this industry. Rebooking and referrals are worth more to a small practice than a tip is.
How often should I book?
Monthly is the standard rhythm for general stress and wellbeing. Physical work, hard training or a long-standing problem tends to want every two to three weeks. A rhythm you keep beats an ambitious one you abandon.
