What the Express Massage is

Short on time but need stress relief? Enjoy our targeted relaxation or deep tissue massage focusing on 2-3 body parts. Choose from scalp, neck, shoulders, arms, back, hips, legs, hands or feet.

The Express Massage exists for a specific situation: you know exactly where the problem is, and you do not have ninety minutes to get to it. Rather than spreading 45 minutes thinly across the whole body, the session concentrates on two or three areas you pick, and works them properly.

That focus is the point. A 45-minute full-body massage is a compromise — every area gets about four minutes and nothing gets resolved. A 45-minute session on your neck, shoulders and upper back is a genuinely different treatment, and for a lot of people it is more useful than an hour spread everywhere.

Choosing your two or three areas

You choose from: scalp, neck, shoulders, arms, back, hips, legs, hands or feet. A few combinations come up repeatedly, for good reasons:

CombinationWho books it
Neck, shoulders, upper backDesk workers, drivers, anyone who sleeps badly. The most-booked combination by a distance.
Low back, hips, glutesLong sitting, long standing, anyone whose back complains by Thursday.
Legs and feetPeople on their feet all day, runners, nurses, teachers, anyone in hospitality.
Scalp, neck, shouldersTension headaches and jaw clenching.
Hands, arms, shouldersAnyone doing repetitive work with their hands — including keyboards.

You do not have to decide before you arrive. Describing what has been bothering you is usually enough, and the areas get chosen together at the start of the session.

Relaxation or deep tissue

The Express Massage can be either. If you want to switch off, the work stays flowing and moderate. If you have a specific knot that has been there for a fortnight, the work goes slower and deeper into that area.

Deep work in a 45-minute window is realistic precisely because the area is small. There is time to warm the tissue, sink in, and wait for it to release — which there would not be if the same 45 minutes had to cover the whole body. The distinction between the two approaches is set out in deep tissue vs Swedish massage.

Who books the Express Massage

  • People building a regular rhythm. At 45 minutes and $100, it is the easiest session on the menu to repeat monthly rather than treat as an occasion.
  • Anyone with one persistent problem area rather than generalized tension.
  • First-time clients who want to try massage without committing to a longer session.
  • Clients on a tight schedule who would otherwise cancel rather than book something longer.
  • Existing clients topping up between full body sessions.

If you are choosing between this and the longer session, the rule of thumb is simple: if you can point at the problem, book the Express. If the answer is 'everything', book the Full Body Massage.

Studio or in your home

The Express Massage is available both ways, at the same price. At the studio it is performed in a private treatment studio inside Mattison Avenue Salon & Spa in Dallas. In your home, the table, fresh linens, bolsters, aromatherapy oils and music are all brought to you and all leave again afterwards.

In-home works particularly well for the Express Massage, because a 45-minute treatment is the one where a 30-minute round trip is hardest to justify. How in-home massage works covers the practical side, and what to have ready covers the setup.

Express Massage — questions

How long is the Express Massage and what does it cost?

45 minutes at $100. That price is the same whether the session is at the Dallas studio or in your own home — there is no separate mobile rate.

How many body parts can I choose?

Two to three, from: scalp, neck, shoulders, arms, back, hips, legs, hands or feet. You can decide when you arrive; describing what has been bothering you is usually enough to pick the right combination together.

Can the Express Massage be deep tissue?

Yes. It can be targeted relaxation or deep tissue work, whichever suits. Deep work is realistic in 45 minutes precisely because the area is small — there is time to warm the tissue and let it release.

Is 45 minutes long enough to be worth it?

For a focused session, yes. Forty-five minutes concentrated on your neck, shoulders and upper back is a genuinely different treatment from 45 minutes spread across the whole body, and for many people it is more useful.

Can I have an Express Massage at home?

Yes, anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas. In-home availability is limited by design — only a few new in-home clients are accepted each month — so booking ahead is the reliable approach.
